Entocycle – United Kingdom
Entocycle was founded in 2014 in London (UK) with the objective of producing insect protein at scale to sustainably feed the world. Entocycle is an early-stage biotech company utilising proprietary technology to manage a highly optimised process of bioconversion using insects. The company tackles the global and increasing problem of food and organic waste and converts it into valuable sources of protein, oil and fertiliser. The company’s mission is to tackle the global protein crisis by developing a scalable and efficient solution producing nutritional insect-based protein.
Entocycle will participate as an end-user in this project, providing necessary input to design the systems as well as their R&D facility to test the newly developed technologies in an industrial real case scenario. Entocycle will contribute to Use-cases, user requirements and system architectures, Biological, technical and economic aspects and parameters to insect rearing, Farm-level modelling and orchestration, Cognitive robots and smart mechatronics, Secure platform integration, Pilot studies demonstration and evaluation, Dissemination, communication and exploitation and Project management.
