In the realm of sustainable agriculture, CoRoSect is making waves with its innovative approach to insect farming. The recent CoRoSect Open Day at the Italian Cricket Farm (ICF) was a remarkable event that displayed the project’s cutting-edge technologies and revolutionary farming techniques.
The event welcomed a diverse group of participants from the scientific, industry, business and policy sectors. The purpose was to present the real-world application of state-of-the-art farming techniques. As a result, the ICF renowned for its emphasis on local production, high quality, and sustainability, was the perfect setting for the event happening.
Attendees had a chance to experience the technological marvels of CoRoSect’s advancements. Among the highlights was the specially developed Virtual Reality training that offered a unique glimpse into the intricacies of insect farming. Furthermore, participants were able to witness the M-robot in action, executing precise manipulations related to insect handling, while the D-robot efficiently loaded and unloaded crates from the AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle).
CoRoSect always puts upfront the well-being of insects. Therefore, the Icrates equipped with sensors serve that purpose while providing essential information. Hence, the health and welfare of insects are ensured, while in the meantime reflecting on the project’s commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices.
It can be pinpointed that CoRoSect’s Open Day left participants inspired and amazed by the potential of advanced farming techniques and innovative solutions. The event stressed that robotics and cutting-edge technologies can revolutionize the insect farming industry and it was a clear signal that the future of sustainable agriculture is closer than ever.
