CIHEAM – Italy
CIHEAM Bari is a centre for post-graduate training, applied scientific research and design of “in loco” partnership actions within the framework of international research and cooperation programmes. It was founded in 1962. The mission of CIHEAM Bari is to promote sustainable agriculture in the Mediterranean countries and foster the spirit of international cooperation in agriculture, focusing on training, research and cooperation. Through its MSc courses and PhD students and, principally, among the active participation at research and cooperation projects at the European and Mediterranean level, CIHEAM Bari is very active in spreading the innovation knowledge in agriculture. It is developing several IA (innovation Actions), RIA (Research projects) and European networks in the frame of the Horizon 2020 program.
CIHEAM will lead Developing sustainable insect diets from agricultural wastes and sidestreams, and contribute to Biological, technical and economic requirements on insect rearing process, Optimizing insect rearing (chain) through the development of a model-driven support system, Integration plan and platform interfaces, Testing, optimization and technical validation, and Pilot preparation and planning.

CoRoSect consortium is a diverse and dynamic network of partners, representing key players in insect farming, pure robotic science and engineering, sustainability-driven innovation practices as well as collaborative business models.
UM – Netherlands
UM is the youngest University in the Netherlands. It is rapidly expanding and has developed a strong international presence, while it is placed on the tenth place in the 2019 Times Higher Education (THE) 200 Under 50 ranking for best young universities in the world. UM is renowned for its unique, innovative, problem-based learning system, which is characterized by a small-scale, research and student-oriented approach. The UM is exceptionally well equipped to carry out EU projects. Approximately 25% of the University’s income is generated by externally funded research projects (all faculties combined). In FP7 UM was involved in over 150 projects. In Horizon 2020 the total amount of projects that the UM is involved in (from 2014 till August 2019), is about 160 with approximately 75 mln euro of funding volume.
CoRoSect is developing a novel Cognitive Robotic System for Digitalized and Networked (Automated) Insect Farms. We bring leading-edge robotics, AI, and some of the best experts in our industry - to help embrace automation and wave goodbye to the monotonous and mundane tasks.
